What is the debt collection procedure for active loans?
Debt reminders and payment default
We will remind you about the upcoming payment date via SMS and email. If we don't receive the payment on time, we will keep reminding you of the debt by SMS, email, automated calls, and postal letters.
From the moment you are late in paying, default interest will be charged for each day that the payment is late. In addition, some claim notices are subject to an additional fee in accordance with the laws of the country where your loan is issued. You can read the price list here.*
If you do not repay the debt even after repeated reminders and a delay of two months has arisen, we are obliged to report your payment arrears to the BKR. You can read more here about when your data will be published by the BKR.
If the debt is not paid in full
f you do not pay the debt, even after repeated reminders, and three consecutive monthly payments are fully or partially overdue, Bondora is forced to terminate your loan agreement(s) and call on the collection agency to collect the entire debt. You can read more about the debt collection procedure for canceled loans here.
Please note: if you are more than one month in arrears, and you repay an amount that is not sufficient to cover the entire debt, the payment will be divided among the outstanding amounts according to the terms of your loan agreement: payments received will first be allocated to costs and other items such as default interest, then interest and finally repayment of the outstanding loan amount.
